  ADP.2 English Book Modern Literary Essays It is a text book which is included in ADP Arts Part.2 syllabus of Punjab University ,Sargodha University, GCUF, IUB and others universities who follow ADP syllabus. University will ask questions from these modern literary essays. University will put total three questions and the students will be asked to attempt any two questions with answer length of 150 words.   ADP Part.2 English Novel The Old Man and the Sea This is a thought provoking and motivational novel by a world famous novelist Ernest Hemingway. Basically is is a novella: a short formed novel. It was published in 1952 and after two years of its publication, in 1854 it got Nobel Prize.  The major characters of the novel are: 1. Santiago: the protagonist of this novel 2. Manolin: The apprentice of Santiago 3. Marline: The great fish 4. Sharks: These attack the fish and eat its flesh 5. Sea: It acts as a living being in the novel  Short Summary of the novel Santiago is a Cuban fisherman who goes for fishing since the last eighty four days but he is unable to catch any fish.   What is the syllabus of ADP Part.2 English? There are two books in ADP. Part.2 English. One is " Modern Literary Essays " which contains 20 literary essays. Second book is of English Novel " The Old Man and the Sea " by Ernest Hemingway. Here is a relaxation for the students in text reading. AS there is no question of reference to the context in ADP Part.2 English Paper , so the students are not bound to read the text of these two books. But my recommendation is that students must go through the text of these two books for a broaden concept and better understanding. There would be two sections in ADP Part.2 English Paper Section.1 will cover these two above mentioned text books and the students will be asked to answer to the given questions. This section will be of 40 marks. Section.2 will cover the grammar portion in the paper. This portion includes the items like essays on topics, Letter to the editor, applications, idioms, phrasal verbs and correction of the

  What is ADP Part.1 Syllabus of English? Associate Degree Program Part.1 Punjab University   There are two books in ADP part. I English. The names of these books are as under: 1. Short Stories and one Act plays 2. An Anthology of English verse.   Students are recommended to read carefully the text of poems & one act plays as in ADP part. 1 English paper first question is of reference to the context. The lines for reference to the content come from Poems and one act Plays. If students want, they read the text of short stories otherwise they can only prepare the questions from short stories. But my recommendation is that student should go through the text of short stories for broaden concept and better understanding. There would be two sections of ADP Parts English paper: Section.   What is Associate Degree Program? As everybody knows that all the universities of Pakistan have abolished two year BA/B.Sc as per the notification of the Higher Education Commission. Now all the universities have started ADP: Associate Degree Program that is also of two years. This degree program has three major categories. 1. Associate Degree Program in Arts 2.Asscoicate Degree Program in Science 3.Associate degree Program in Commerce The above mentioned three categories would replace BA /B.Sc and B.Com respectively. One can say that nomenclature of BA/B.Sc and B.Com has been changed into ADP in Arts Science and Commerce. Like BA / B.Sc it is of two year, same syllabus and same exams pattern: Annual and bi-annual. Both regular and private students can take part in ADP two years degree program. The annual exams of these degree are expected to be held on April quite like BA / B.Sc exams held in April every year. The bi-annual exams are held two months after the results of annual exams
